The Eon Steel (see lowest price) has a very attractive finish with a brushed stainless steel bezel, and a bright, high contrast color display. The unit has an easy to use interface, but configurations must be done through their software (DM5) which is available for free on the Suunto website. The software allows for very comprehensive customization to what you see, and how you will be diving.

The Cressi Leonardo Scuba Dive Computer (see lowest price) is first on our list of watch size dive computers. Scuba Sumo likes this Cressi for its nice mix of features, size, and affordability.

It is generally in a price range that is good for new divers, but has features that will allow divers to grow into. The Cressi Leonardo uses the RGBM dive tables for its basis, has air and nitrox modes, and large digits that make reading easy.

This model also has audible and visual alarms for various settings, and countdowns for diving safety stops. It has capability to interface with computers, but additional purchase is necessary for the USB cable.

The Mares Puck Wrist dive computer (see lowest price)is among the most affordable dive computers on the market. It is a full function Air/Nitrox computer adjustable up to nitrox of 50%.

The Puck is a wrist computer, but is also mountable on consoles. Using the RGBM algorithm, the Mares Puck does everything you would expect out of your dive computer. This unit is approximately 60mm wide, so it is likely a bit to big to look like a normal watch out of the water.

The Suunto Zoop Dive computer (see lowest price) is next on our list, and is a fantastic entry level dive computer. It also has advanced features that allow more experience divers to use it as a main or backup device.

User changeable batteries make it easier to service when the time comes. No need to send to a dealer just to change the batteries. This unit also features air and nitrox mixes up to 50%, audible alarms and a built in dive planner. The Zoop uses Suunto's RGBM algorithm for its calculations. The Zoop keeps history of your dives, and is downloadable to computers via an additional USB cable. Freedivers and snorkelers can also use the Zoop in the depth guage mode. One limitation is that to switch between the Scuba and Snorkeling mode, you must wait 24 hrs to make the change.

The three operating modes (Air, Nitrox, Gauge) are run based on the Suunto RGBM deep stop algorithm. For dives at altitude, adjustments cann be made up to 10,000 ft. Automatic safety stop alarms and countdowns make ascent easy. The Vyper also allows for the user to replace the battery with ease.
